Nonsurgical Medical Aesthetic Treatments for the Face

Your Best Face Forward

Facial aging involves three components including volume loss, bone loss and skin laxity. The face aging process begins in the early 30’s and accelerates at age 45. Whether you are looking to prevent noticeable age-related changes, or treat them, addressing the face with a comprehensive approach is imperative to achieving natural results.

Understanding Facial Aging

At Med 44 Arcadia our nursing staff and clinical team is extensively trained in anatomy and safety.  We believe it’s important for every patient to understand the aging process, and the science of the treatments.  During your consultants and routine appointments, your provider will educate you on comprehensive treatments, pre and post care, as well as how to maintain your results.

Your Facial Fat Pads and Volume Loss

A youthful look depends on having the appropriate proportions of facial fat in the correct places. With an increase in age, the natural fat pads of the face start to dissipate. Redistribution, accumulation, and atrophy of the fat lead to facial volume loss. With this, the areas of the fat tend to separate, creating a less smooth appearance to the facial structures.   Areas of fat loss are usually in the forehead, under eyes, cheeks and lips. Due to descent of tissue and skin laxity, other areas of the face may increase their volume of fat, such as around the mouth and jawline.

Your Facial Structure and Bone Loss

With age, there is also a significant loss of facial bone. The craniofacial skeleton atrophy is due to the relative dynamics of bone expansion and bone resorption. Bone resorption leads to biometric volume loss creating less structural support of the facial features. This allows bony features to appear more prominently, as well as lines and wrinkles to become more visible. This causes the appearance of hollow eyes, less defined cheekbones, softened jawline, flattening of the chin, a downward shifting tip of the nose and elongation of the upper lip.

We Specialize in Full Face Correction for Natural Results

At Med 44, we specialize in full face, body, and skin consultations. During your initial consultation, your medical provider will work with you to create a customized treatment plan based on your anatomy and aesthetic goals. Our approach is to provide expert medical aesthetic treatments to keep each patient looking refreshed, natural, and confident.

Cheeks

Cheek enhancement and contouring with Dermal Filler, Bio Stimulating Injectables, and/or PDO Threads are among the most popular medical aesthetic treatments. When properly placed, cheek enhancement can slenderize the face and improve under eye hollowing. Natural cheek enhancement requires full face assessment and artistry to ensure balance, proportions and proper transitions. Mid-face rejuvenation of cheeks, tear troughs, and temples must always be balanced with lower face rejuvenation of the chin, jawline and lips. At Med 44, we provide a Full-Face Assessment with every consultation.

Temples

Hollowing of the temples is a common complaint of many patients. Dermal Filler and/or Bio Stimulating Injectables are commonly used to volumize the lateral cheeks, temples and lateral brow area. PDO Volumizing Threads can also be used to naturally stimulate collagen production in the temples. Temporal hollowing is a key component of our Full-Face Assessment.

Smile Lines

Descent of the facial tissue and bone reabsorption are often first noticed by patients as smile lines, or nasal labial fold lines. If static lines or wrinkles have developed, advanced injection techniques can be used to fill and minimize the creasing of the skin. We do not recommend over filling of this area with Dermal Filler to correct a line or wrinkle. A PDO Thread Lift, Cheek Enhancement with Dermal Filler, or Skin Resurfacing are often recommended to prevent and/or correct smile lines and wrinkles.

Jowls, Jawline and Masseters

Jowling and laxity in the face are among the most common concerns of the aesthetic patient.  Fullness in the jowls often makes the face appear square and heavy.  Reducing the fullness in this area with Fat Dissolving Injections (Kybella), and/or a PDO Thread Lift offer great non-surgical treatment options.  Radio Frequency Micro Needling and RF Skin Tightening for the Face and Neck are popular treatments to prevent and correct jowling and jawline laxity.  Neurotoxins can be used to enhance the jawline by treated the masseter muscles, chin, and/or neck.  Careful treatment of the masseter muscles with Neurotoxins can aid in relieving jaw pain, teeth grinding, TMJ, and facial slimming.  Assessment and placement of injections is key to achieve the desired result and not impair the smile or worsen any existing jowling.  We offer a conservative and effective treatment plan for masseters as part of our Full-Face Assessment.

Lips

One of the most popular and sought-after injectable treatment is lip enhancement.  At Med 44, our lip philosophy is less is more.  Natural lip enhancement requires careful consideration and assessment of skin quality, lip volume, teeth show, chin projection and hyaluronic acid dermal filler product selection.  In our full-face assessments, we recommend treating lips last for the most natural undetectable results.  Our Small Lip Queen Treatment offers rejuvenation of the lips to improve hydration, define the borders, provide symmetry and subtle volume enhancement.  Additionally, we offer a Dissolving Service for patients who wish to dissolve their lip dermal filler prior to scheduling their Small Lip Queen Treatment.

Tear Troughs - Under Eyes

Under eye hollowing, dark circles, and crepey skin are very common concerns of our aesthetic patients. A comprehensive assessment of each individual patient is important to determine if a patient is a candidate for non-surgical tear trough treatments. We offer a variety of non-invasive treatments to naturally rejuvenate the under eyes including Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF), Collagen Boosting Threads, Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler, Micro Tox and Radio Frequency Micro Needling. Concurrent treatment of the medial and lateral cheeks are important components of our Tear Trough rejuvenation services at Med 44.

Brow Lift, Forehead & Frown Lines

Dynamic and repetitive facial movements can create static lines and wrinkles. On the forehead these are referred to as eleven lines, frown lines, and horizontal lines. These lines often worsen with age due to the loss of key collagen and elastin proteins in the skin. Whether you are seeking to prevent these lines or treat them, we offer a variety of quick in-office treatments to enhance brows and soften expression lines.

Lip Lines

Sun damage, drinking with straws and repetitive facial movements over time can lead to the development of lip lines, also known as smokers lines. Correction of lip lines require careful consideration and assessment of skin quality, lip volume, teeth show, chin projection and product selection. Effective treatments often include a combination of Radio Frequency Micro Needling and/or Resurfacing, Collagen Boosting Sugar Threads, and Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler.

Chin

Chin enhancement is key to facial balancing and achieving natural outcomes with injectables.  Chin recession, squaring or flattening can be corrected with Dermal Filler, Bio Stimulating Injectables, and PDO Threads.  Chin dimpling or a chin crease can be treated with Neurotoxins and/or Dermal Filler.  Radio Frequency Micro Needling improves chin laxity and skin quality.  Fat Dissolving Injections with Kybella can correct for a double chin by permanently reducing fat cells over a treatment series.

Nose

At Med 44 we offer PDO Rhino Threads to improve the contour, symmetry, and tip of the nose.  Neurotoxins carefully placed can enhance nasal flaring, pores, redness, and texture.  We offer a full menu of medical grade skin and laser treatments to improve skin quality and texture of the nose and T zone.

Ear Lobes

Volume loss and laxity can lead to thin and wrinkled ear lobes.  In less than a 30-minute appointment, Dermal Filler can provide immediate volume replenishment of the ear lobes.

Neck

Laxity and collagen loss can lead to creepy, sagging skin on the neck.  Our Full-Face Assessments always include the neck and hands to ensure natural results.
